Established in March 2017, Secura Training Academy is a Public Approved Training Organisation, offering comprehensive Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) training courses for security services.
Taking a holistic approach towards learning and development, we design and deliver courses with practical applications to bridge the gaps in skill sets through hands-on training. WSQ Security Courses
The WSQ Security courses seek to equip the security officer with basic and specialised skills to enhance the officer’s work performance. Individual must complete 3 Basic Licensing Units to obtain a security officer license and complete 2 more modules to attain Certificate in Security qualification.
We offer courses for Basic Licensing Units to become Security Officer (SO), Senior Security Officer (SSO) modules and Security Supervisor (SS) modules.

Progressive Wage Model (PWM)
Security Agencies must ensure that their Security Officers meet the necessary Progressive Wage Model (PWM) training requirements prior to deployment. Apart from the acquisition of new skills to increase productivity or for career progression, Security Officers are paid a salary that is commensurate with their skills and experience.

You must clear and complete two compulsory modules as stated below on top of the three basic licensing units.
- Deterrence: Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour (MDCTB)
- Access Control Management: Operate Basic Security Equipment (OBSE)
(Cease to be SSO module from 2024) (SSO module with effect from 2024)
You will have to clear and complete a total of three compulsory modules as stated below.
- Guard and Patrol: Supervise Security Officers (SSOC) (Mandatory module) and any two of the following courses.
- Capability Development: Induct Security Personnel (ISP)
- Security Operation Compliance: Perform Supervisory Duties Within Legal Framework (PSDWLF)

Once your registration is confirmed you will receive a confirmation email from us within 3 working days.
Candidates must be dressed appropriately when attending class and assessment. They can wear their Uniform or Shirt / Blouse / Collared T-shirt and Pants / Jeans. They must wear covered footwear such as Shoes / Sneakers.
Singlets / Round Neck T-shirt, Bermudas /Shorts / Skirts, and Slippers / open Sandals are not allowed unless there is a valid reason or medical proof.
Candidates with no valid reasons, will not be allowed to take the assessment and will be automatically graded as ‘Not Yet Competent’ for the assessment.
You are encouraged to come down to Secura Training Academy at least 2 working days in advance before the class start date to make the necessary payment or payments can do done online. We only accept payment through SkillsFuture Credit or electronic bank transfer (Paynow, bank transfer), GIRO and by cheque. Cheques should be crossed out and mailed along with the completed registration form to Secura Training Academy Pte Ltd, 38 Alexandra Terrace, Singapore 119932.
You can use UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) to defray your training costs if you are an existing NTUC member.

Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent residents are eligible to receive training subsidies from SkillsFuture Singapore depending on certain conditions. Funding varies based on your age, income level and if you are client sponsored.

For assessments conducted by POLWEL:
Trainee submits the prescribed Appeal Form and pays the appeal fees due to POLWEL through Secura Training Academy. The completed appeal form will be sent to POLWEL, who will contact the trainee directly after the appeal review is completed. The results will be updated accordingly thereafter.
For assessments conducted by in-house assessors:
A prescribed Appeal Form will be given to the trainee to make the appeal to Secura Training Academy within 07 working days from the date of assessment. Payment for appeal fees is to be made upon submitting the Appeal Form. The appeal report will be prepared within 14 days after review by the Secura Training Academy committee comprising of the Training Manager, Assessor and Adult Educator. The Appeal Report will be sent to the trainee and the result will be updated accordingly thereafter.
For application of your Basic Security Licence, you will need:
- Your Singpass App or Singpass Account details
- Your Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Paypal Details
- Your documents showing that you have prior security training/experience (optional)
For Malaysians, you will need a scanned copy of the following:
- Your work permit
- Your Malaysian IC
- Your passport
- Your Certificate of Good Conduct
